This training is geared towards clinicians who support neurodivergent adolescent clients. The presenters will share ways to understand and frame clinical presentations in terms of particular giftedness plus additional diagnoses. Included in the discussion will be the benefits of recognizing, reframing and understanding neurodivergent clients’ needs and how these impact the therapeutic relationship. Grace Malonai, PhD, LPCC, BC-TMH, has been providing psychotherapy services in the San Francisco area since 1998. Dr. Grace has received intensive training in family systems, child and adult development, trauma and recovery, play therapy, Relational-Cultural work, Depth Oriented Brief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. As the owner and Clinical Director at TheraThrive, in Lafayette and Burbank, Dr. Grace specializes in counseling and consultation in gifted and highly sensitive adults, children, teens, parents, and families. She has contributed to various books, magazines, newsletters and blogs. As an adjunct professor at St. Mary’s College of California, and a regular presenter at local and national conferences, Dr. Grace is able to share her knowledge and passion on various topics that focus on neurodivergent populations, including 2e, Autism and ADHD.
